Well, these three files are the master lists of those.īnf – Like its name says, this file contains the list of brushes forms (i.e. shapes or maps).īnf – This file contains the list of brushes textures. What are these files? They are lists of the things we described above. We are only interested on these configuration files: nf, nf and nf. On SAI they can be chosen on the Layers panel: Papertex contains paper textures. Unrelated to brushes textures, these are textures you apply on a layer. They are the ones you choose here, right below the brush shape: For example, a simple circle brush shape can have a “dirt” texture. A brush can have a certain shape and it can have a texture. They are the ones you choose here, on the brush panel:īrushtex contains brushes textures. There are two types of maps which behave differently, which is why they are kept in two separate folders. If you open any of these folders you’ll see they contain BMP files, which are image files just like JPGs or GIFs.īlotmap and elemap contain the brushes shapes (“maps”). The only folders that interest us are blotmap, brushtex, elemap and papertex. This is where your SAI is installed with all its system files. Click on the Open File Location button.Ī new window will appear. Click on Properties.Ī window will appear. Right click on the icon and you’ll get a menu like this. It can be located on your Start Menu, or your desktop. Locate the PaintTool SAI icon with which you launch it on your computer. HOW TO FIND WHERE PAINTTOOL SAI IS INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER My approach is to explain how SAI works instead. I’ve personally found that tutorials or step-by-step guides are more confusing rather than helpful. If you want to set your own brushes on SAI, you should at least know what you're doing. OR 4) Right clicking on the button and select the folder manually IN CASE THE DOWNLOAD LINK DOESN'T WORK, TRY WITH:Ģ) Disabling your AdBlock (this did the trick with people in the past, so consider it!)ģ) Deleting your browser cookies (this did the trick with people in the past TOO!) You have to open SAI and create a new tool for each setting MANUALLY. You CAN'T copy these settings in a directory. Just download this deviation to get them (download link is on the right). Be sure to keep your codes too if you want them to show into your brush list.Ħ) Do the same with nf but past this code instead.ħ) Now you have to set your brushes manually by copying my settings. 4) Right click on your nf file and select 'Open with.', then select 'Note pad' or 'Word pad' from the list.ĥ) Copy/paste this code into your file. ![]()
